Honey has no expiration date

Honey is never spoiled as long as it is kept in a cool-shady place and in a well-closed container. Over time it changes color and texture and acquires more intense aromas. The oldest honey has been found in Egyptian tombs, which is over 5,000 years old, without any alteration. But beekeepers are required by European law to set an expiration date of around 3 years.
